Zant, being the deranged little maniac he is, has a phase for each of the bosses you've fought up to him.
In the Blizzeta phase, he grows huge and tries to stomp you out of existence. Use the ball and chain to knock his socks off, and he'll shrink to a teeny-tiny Zant that you can cut down to size.

STOP SPOILING THE GAME FOR ME
Considering the game's been out for three years now. . .and the title is fairly informative. . .you'll get no sympathy me from me.

And considering that you said that you stopped playing before you even reached the first dungeon...
This was my favorite phase in the Zant fight. I thought it was hilarious seeing him shrink down while he hops up and down like a maniac.
