So, sorry for the lateness. Besides my flakiness, part of the reason is that there was no clear winner - there are quite a few amazing captions this time. But I'm late, so you know IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD. Quite literally in this case.
I eventually decided to give the win to easily_distracted. Indeed, this is a depiction of planetary apocalypse worthy of the caption. If you look at sites corrobating the Nostradamus/Mayan apocalypse, they inevitably have some image like this ^_^ Plus, the 2012 movie is coming out soon so the caption is relevant and topical. . .but there aren't any other 2012 shots on the site, so it's also fresh. Stellar job, easily_distracted!
Honorable mention to shadowsquid86 for lulzy Mario reference. Now we know what would happen if Rosalina-Jesus screwed up. Another honorable mention to ejrunner017 for fitting Hitchhiker reference (made ironic because Magratheans are planet builders!)
