You should have had him spinning, like SA2's Flame Somersault. More specifically, have Mario on his team (FF off) and have Sonic use his dash attack through the Fire and the Flames (HA!) so he is spinning right at the end of the fire trail. Perfect Flame Somersault. Better yet, I'll do that.

If you think about it, this shot is actually two references. The first of course, is "Back to the Future", and the other one is Sonic CD, what with the time-traveling, but mostly because of the way Sonic runs in Brawl. Anyway, amazing shot!
