I can't remember how exactly I did this effect, but it would be neat if you could shoot fireballs when you execute a punch, huh?

maybe it was just the fireball of mario in megasize?
Hmmm... I dunno... I'd be more inclined to say that the punch hit someone and that flame was part of the trail they leave behind.
